Manuka honey has a very unique flavor, its an earthy almost bitter honey. I don't believe the touted health benefits, but it tastes great on cornbread or pancakes. This honey is a little grainy, but it is a lot smoother and more liquid than other manuka honey I have had. It seems really expensive for what it is, but that's true of all manuka honey. This jar is about half the size of the manuka honey I usually buy, it's only a little over 8 ounces per jar. It comes from New Zealand. The Honey I received in October 2022 has an expiration date of March 2027, but honey never really expires.

This is a honey that can be used for both the pantry AND the medicine chest. If you're using it for eating purposes, I'd keep it in reserve for finishing purposes or upscale events. For medical purposes it actually works. I've had a spot of dinosaur elbow for 20 years. I've used lotions, potions and poultices, some prescribed by my dermatologist. I just lived with it. Until - I used manuka medical grade honey as a dressing covered by gauze. It slowly disappeared. It's said to be effective for skin care including eczema and dermatitis, it's soothing for a cough or sore throat, and many use it for digestive health. This small jar has a hefty sticker price but if it helps your and cares for your skin or just adds flavor to your foods it may be a choice you're prepared to make.
